Helping Victims of Violence in Brazil

Laíze Benevides speaking at our monthly meeting last month
Laíze Benevides, a lawyer from Brazil, was the guest speaker at our monthly meeting last month. Laíze told us how she and her colleagues help the victims of domestic violence, state violence and sexual violence. She also spoke about the assassination of Marielle Franco, a black woman who she knew personally, served for eight years in Brazil's Human Rights Commission in the state parliament and was voted the fifth best councilwoman for the whole country.

All are welcome to attend and, if they like, to leave after our guest's talk.
