"Last Chance for Lockdown Creativity"

Our creative writing competition is in full swing. We are pleased to have received submissions from all over England but we want more - and Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are under-represented so we encourage entries from there too.

The competition is for original, unpublished fictional stories, poems or dramatic dialogues up to 500 words - on the theme of Locked. The top ten finalists will receive (courtesy of the author) signed copies of Grandmothers, the latest book by Salley Vickers - Sunday Times best-selling author of The Librarian and judge for this competition. The top five entries will be published on our website - and the winning writer will receive £50.

Our member and competition-organiser Judy says this is "a last chance for lockdown creativity", because the final submission date is 31 March - but we also hope this is our last ever "lockdown"!

Full details of the competition are here.
