Fully Queer, Fully Here: Being a Trans, Lesbian Priest in the Church

Talk: by Rachel Mann, rector of a Manchester church and Resident Poet at Manchester Cathedral.

Rachel Mann has quite a story to tell. A trained philosopher, she transitioned from male to female in her early twenties. Whilst Teaching Fellow at Lancaster University she – to her ongoing surprise – became a Christian. In 2005 she was ordained in the Church of England and is currently rector of a church in South Manchester and Resident Poet at Manchester Cathedral. She writes, broadcasts and talks about the church, sexuality and gender. Her memoir of growing up trans, ‘Dazzling Darkness’ was a Church Times bestseller. www.rachelmann.co.uk
