Heidi Chan of the Centre for Applied Human Rights at the University of York at our group's meeting last month

On 24 April 2017 York was declared the United Kingdom's first Human Rights City. At our group's monthly meeting in September, Heidi Chan of the Centre for Applied Human Rights at the University of York explained what York's being a Human Rights City means.

We have pledged our support for human rights in York and for York as the UK's first Human Rights City. You can pledge your support too.

Our next monthly meeting takes place on Tuesday 10 October at 7.30 pm at the usual venue - York Friends Meeting House, Friargate, York YO1 9RL. Everyone is welcome to attend.
